Digital Writer

Ethan Segerman is a senior at Northeastern University majoring in History, Culture, and Law with a minor in Italian. He has served as both a print and digital writer. During his time with NUULR, he authored a note titled “Unionizing College Athletics,” which argued that the NCAA should allow student-athletes to collectively bargain with their colleges and the NCAA in the wake of recent legislation related to name, image, and likeness (NIL). Ethan also authored a note titled Down With PASPA: How Congress Can Legally Regulate Sports Betting Following the Murphy v. NCAA Ruling, which argued for alternative means for Congress to regulate sports betting in the wake of the Supreme Court striking down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA). Ethan’s passion for sports drove him to explore the intersection of sports and their legal implications throughout his work.

Ethan’s legal interests include intellectual property, employment law, and entertainment and sports law. He previously completed a civil rights co-op with Boston Public Schools and a legal operations co-op with Jason Stone Injury Lawyers.

Outside of academic work, you can find Ethan cheering on his Washington DC sports teams, enjoying the great outdoors, and trying to find the hidden gems of restaurants and bars.
